Advance Infection Prevention Leadership with the IPC STARR Ladder Program
The IPC STARR Ladder Program is a hybrid training initiative designed to empower emerging leaders in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) within Personal Care Homes and Skilled Nursing Facilities. With rolling enrollment and flexible scheduling by facility, this program offers a tailored learning experience that fits seamlessly into busy healthcare environments. Participants will engage in three progressive phases, each lasting one hour. This program is focused on building foundational IPC knowledge, strengthening facility-level IPC practices, and establishing a sustainable IPC Champion role.

Empowering IPC Champions for Lasting Impact
This program is ideal for IPC Champions or individuals identified as emerging IPC leaders. No prerequisites are required, and organizations may enroll 1–2 participants to ensure personalized attention and meaningful engagement. Through self-paced online modules, virtual one-on-one reviews, and Train-the-Trainer activities, participants will gain the skills and confidence needed to lead IPC efforts, train staff, and support policy improvements across their facilities.

Flexible, Facility-Centered Learning
Recognizing the challenges of frequent staff turnover and demanding workloads, the IPC STARR Ladder Program is designed with flexibility in mind. Facilities schedule sessions based on their availability, allowing participants to learn and apply IPC strategies without disrupting daily operations. The program fosters resilience and retention by equipping staff with practical tools and leadership development in IPC.

Building a Culture of Prevention and Professional Growth
By completing the IPC STARR Ladder Program, participants will contribute to a stronger culture of infection prevention, improved staff training, and enhanced organizational support for IPC initiatives. The anticipated outcomes include professional development, increased IPC competency, and the establishment of a dedicated IPC Champion at each facility—ensuring that infection prevention remains a top priority.
